Hello Again

Hey guys,

It feels like forever since I came online last. My life has been complete mess since moving.
I really don’t recommended moving while pregnant, you don’t realise how much you own till it’s all packed! With Christmas around the corner my blog has been left but I made a promise to myself I would get back into it before the end of the year. I’ve wanted to get the new house sorted before baby arrives, we’ve been having furniture delivered and only now I’ve finished the living room. Next is our spare room as we are having people staying in a couple of weeks.
I’ve had a really rough pregnancy so far it really hasn’t been easy and takes more out of me then I ever expected. Luckily our little girl is doing great, it’s just my body isn’t coping with so many changes at once. I’ve been suffering a lot with SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction) and now sciatica. I lay around and just feel pity for myself most nights. I’ve basically not done much apart from work during the week. Between that this little missy sometimes decides that shell scare me with lack of movement. I swear pregnancy is a worry, I’m get to find that so wanted glow?!?! Its amazing too look back though and see all the chances. I can now sit and watch my belly move for hours on end and play a poke game with her and she’ll kick you back. I’m sure she means stop it!
What’s that?
I simply haven’t had the energy to do anything it’s all been very basic here. Most weekends I sit around in leggings and a t-shirt. I really don’t feel like myself and I can now say I’m exhausted and just want to meet this little one. I have however bought a few things that I had my eye on. Though it’s mostly drugstore but I’ve found some keepers. I’m hoping for a couple of things at Christmas let’s see what Santa decides to bring!

Its a.....

Hello my loves,
I know it’s been a while and I promised I would post when I found out the sex of our baby but life was so crazy we moved that week our internet got disconnected on the Wednesday and I had no time!

Pink or Blue?!?!?
I’m happy to announce that we are indeed expecting a little girl!
We are both over the moon and feel so blessed she’s perfect and I’m so in love already. We actually found out when I was 16 weeks pregnant though my husband couldn’t believe it! It’s the first girl in his family in over 29 years so yes they are all super excited for her arrival. She does have a name I might share that soon when I show you her nursery which we started working on this week. We placed an order on her furniture last Saturday it all seems so real now. I can’t believe we are over half way, and that soon enough she will finally be here!

I have never felt happier than now. She is truly a blessing, and my heart goes out to anyone with fertility problems. I’ve been there and I know no matter how much people say you will get there the pain does not get better if anything it hurts more. But believe me when I say, once you are all the hurt and tears will be worth it and they only made you stronger. All I can say is better days will come, cry if you need to scream your heart out. I remember so many nights I would just cry for no reason the pain was SO deep…

As I sit here and type this I’m being kicked from the inside a little reminder that life gets better, chin up my love. Every little pain still scares me, because I’m scared in a blink of an eye she’ll be gone. I just want it to be February already so I can hold her finally. For now let the shopping carry on! Just how cute are baby things?!?! I can’t stop myself from buying, I think she pretty much has enough clothes to get her by but I don’t think I’m ready to stop!

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 11 lbs.
Maternity clothes? A few bits.
Stretch marks? None since 13 weeks.
Sleep: Waking up on the hour to pee!
Best moment this week: Buying her pram and nursery furniture.
Miss anything? Sleeping through night.
Movement: All the time now.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really, though morning sickness has come back at breakfast
Food cravings: Ice cream and cakes!
Gender: GIRL!
Labour signs: None.
Symptoms: Heartburn, acid reflux and morning sickness
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Stronger kicks.

Makeup I have bought a few little treats these last weeks some are still sitting in the boxes waiting to be tested and reviewed. So bare with me on that one, it will be soon I promise.

Moroccanoil Review

Moroccanoil Review

I’m not dead people I promise!

Life has gotten crazy I’m currently typing this sat surrounded by boxes. I can’t believe moving day is this following week. I never thought it’d be so sad to move out of this place. Let’s face it I’ve complained for the past 2 years we’ve lived here I needed more space. I guess now its hit me, this was our first home together we’ve created so many memories. I guess home is where the heart is saying will kick in soon.

Anyways Moroccanoil Review like promised.

I started using this product back in June 2012, two months before my wedding my hair dresser mentioned it as my hair was looking pretty dull and I wanted the “glow”. At over £30 a bottle I was reluctant to buy it. I was using so many different ones at the time and couldn’t understand why this one would be any different. Holy was I mistaken after the first use I was in love, the smell, the texture and just simply how beautiful it left my hair.

My hair was in a terrible state, I went from black to blonde in the matter of 6 months after two goes of stripping the colour I finally decided with my hairdresser we should start adding the highlights. This product saved me from many spilt ends though don’t expect miracle’s I gave up doing my hair daily for it to grow.

You only need a few pumps of this stuff it really goes a long way! Overall I would say it’s very impressive. I have used it ever since I love my blue bottle which sits on the counter in my bathroom or bed side table. My hair has never looked this good since about age 11!

I do recommend you go out and try it, I first bought the little bottle and ever since I’ve just gone for full size. Oh and at Christmas they do an even bigger bottle for the same price! Can you believe it’s nearly Christmas! To be honest I’ve never been so excited because that means only 2 months till I meet our precious little baby.  Oh we have a scan tomorrow we’re just wanting to confirm baby’s sex one more time before we announce it to the world! Let’s just hope it hasn’t changed as we’ve picked a name and nursery colours!

Can you tell I’m excited to be a mum?! My house is currently baby crazy, we bought our cot yesterday. My god this baby bed cost more than ours but it’s simply beautiful I’ve been dying to buy a sleigh cot since I found out we were expecting (to be honest I think I knew everything I wanted for a while! Hubby had no say). We have been lucky enough to have each set of grandparents super excited for the arrival of baby Ribeiro that have spoiled us with lots of cute things!

Expect a post mid-week announcing baby sex but if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you will know tomorrow morning!

Fall Is Nearly Here!

Where did August go?!?!

Hello my loves,
It seems like such a long time I posted on here, life got a little crazy over the summer. We didn’t go away due to me being pregnant mainly which has been a shock to the system! I will however be taking time off at Christmas as I have family visiting from Portugal! Roll on December! To think this will be our last Christmas as two gives me butterflies! Or that could just be the baby, yes I can finally feel those flutters that everyone talks about. We’re just both waiting for that proper kick! We found out what we’re having though I will not be sharing that with you guys for another couple of weeks as we’re still telling family and friends! We are both over the moon regardless of the sex. We are just happy so far they are healthy and everything is going smoothly! As smooth as it can, the morning sickness has stopped now may have the odd day but I’m on cloud 9 compared to the first 12 weeks!
We’ve finally found our dream family home and will be moving within the next month so it might get quiet around here… But let’s face it what’s not to like about decorating a new house. And the nursery? My god this baby has such a big room that’s the task I’m most looking forward to getting stuck into. How cute is baby things?!?!?! I find my husband telling me to calm down.

We celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary and I can honestly say I’ve never loved anyone the way I love my sweet husband! His my best friend and I couldn’t picture life without him!
Beauty products, there hasn’t been anything new lately, all my attention has gone on house hunting and baby things. Though I have my eyes on a few new beauties coming up soon! I’ve been finding some old favourites which is always good. I’m really wanting to make my collection smaller simply because things do expire. Everything I have I have worked hard to get, so it’s a shame to see things go to waste.  Now that we are moving I’ve packed my collection and had to throw out so much that was either dry or smelled off. Let’s face it who wants to use a foundation or lipstick that’s out of date? You wouldn’t use any other product that was expired so makeup shouldn’t be any different. I have had a few samples of new foundations ect but nothing that has made me want to buy it. I’ve been eyeing up a Clinic, Benefit and Estee Lauder foundation so we shall see.
My next post will be my beloved moroccanoil which I’ve been in love with for 2 years and I’ve tried many different oils as sometimes I can’t be spending £32 on an oil but it’s just so lush and nothing has ever lived up to it! Oh, I’ve changed my hair! Crazy I’m still getting use to it and can’t say I love it. I lost 3 inchs of the length but it really did need it. So I thought now was the best time to do it as its been growing super quick! And it’s darker, though my hairdresser has promised me it will go a bit lighter in the next few weeks so let’s hope so!

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain: 5 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Jeans and a Dress a few top now.
Stretch marks? None since 13 weeks.
Sleep: Bad dreams are stopping, though I am now waking up every hour or so to pee.
Best moment this week: Finding out the sex of the baby and getting our house.
Miss anything? Nothing really, being able to walk the dog without feeling like I need to go bed after!
Movement: Here and there.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yellow cream in cakes!
Food cravings: Ice cream!
Gender: We both know now! I can’t wait to share it with you guys!
Labour signs: None.
Symptoms: Vivid Dreams, Morning Sickness and Headaches, a BUMP!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Baby kick!

I will start to upload soon, but life is crazy! We’re both starting to pack now. This was a bit of a random post. But I thought I’d keep you posted.

Sigma Premium Brush Kit

Sigma Premium Brush Kit.

So I know it’s been a while, but this week I started feeling better! Me and baby are both keeping well, but it feels like I’ve been pregnant for ages!

If you remember me reviewing some brushes I mentioned I really wanted a set of sigma brushes. A couple of weeks ago I turned 21 and my sweet husband treated me to these babies. I was totally surprise as I knew he didn’t agree with the price for brushes (men never will understand!) I remember the first time I went to use them I didn’t want to get them dirty or stained! I washed them the following day, terrible I know…

These come in a book style case which will be perfect for traveling, I believe they use to come in a roll before. The brushes themselves are very handy and light to use. They have a funny smell to start with but after a wash they was fine. I was disappointed however it didn’t include a foundation brush. I think this is a great addition if you already have a few brushes in your kit. I’m planning on buying the Make me Classy set which I think will complete my kit.

This set includes the following brushes:

E10 - Small Eye Liner: Precise application of liner. Use with gel or liquid liners.
E15 - Flat Definer: Sharp and precise application. Press product along upper and lower lash lines to create an easy, thin liner. Works with gel, liquid or powder products.
E20 - Short Shader: Concentrated color application. Apply color onto small areas of the eye such as the outer eyelid. Also use to smudge the lower lash line.
E25 - Blending: Controlled blending. Blend colors together onto the lid with added control. Buff out harsh lines for a well blended effect.
E35 - Tapered Blending: Controlled application of crease color. Using just the tip of the brush to pick up color, apply directly onto the crease and sweep through. Effect is blended, but defined.
E45 - Small Tapered Blending: Precise color application onto the crease. Picking up color with just the tip of the brush, apply intense colors to the crease to add depth and dimension to the eye.
E50 - Large Fluff: Controlled highlighting. Apply highlighting shades onto the brow bone or upper cheekbone. Gives a soft and blended finish.
F10 - Powder/Blush: Precise placement of blush. Use for powder application.
F15 - Duo Fibre Powder/Blush: Soft blush application. Generates a diffused blush application. Works especially well with mineral product for a natural and delicate effect.
F20 - Large Powder: Controlled bronzer application. Bronzing of the cheekbones and temple area. Using the flat side gives definition and control.
F25 - Tapered Face: Exact product placement onto cheeks. Apply powder, blush or contour shades onto the cheeks and temples. Tapered shape gives exact placement of product.
F35 - Tapered Highlighter: Subtle highlighting. Apply highlighting shades onto the upper contours of the face. Diffused finish gives skin a natural glow.
F65 - Large Concealer: Conceal larger areas of the face or body. Works well with liquid or cream products.
F75 - Concealer: Precise product placement. Use around the lip area to conceal when wearing bold lip colors.
L05 - Lip: Precise application of color onto the lips. Use the firm edge to define and contour the lips.
I will carry on using these brushes a couple more weeks and then give you a better review on each brush and what I use them for.

Special Announcement

Special Announcement

We’re having a baby
Due February 2015
This may explain why I haven’t been updating my blog and I honestly feel terrible for it. But since week 4 I was so sick I could just about get up in the morning to go to work and as soon I was home I would go to sleep! We are both super excited to become parents and all the changes we’re making to get there, so bare with me! Since finding out on the 11th June my health and my unborn baby have been my main priority.
My husband and I have been trying for a baby for a little while we went through some fertility problems but we managed to do it all naturally the moment we both gave up trying! I always knew I wanted a beginning of the year baby (January or February) so I guess someone up there knew my wishes! I started feeling sick around my husband’s birthday and thought it was a bug I had caught from our nephew this carried on for 4 days, I kept having dreams I was pregnant so one morning at 5am I decided to take a test!  The moment we found out we were expecting so many emotions came through, worried I wouldn’t make it to 12 weeks, scared, happy, everything. I will never forget the look on my husband’s face the moment I showed him the test.
As far as symptoms I have had every single one in the book, I haven’t had it easy at all. The morning sickness was the worst the first couple of weeks I couldn’t keep anything down. I then went off meat completely and was only eating potatoes or rice! At week 9 I had an emergency scan as I was having such bad cramps I was picturing the worse when me and my husband saw a VERY active bundle of joy. These went on to stop a couple of days later thank goodness! Now that I’m coming to an end in week 12 the sickness is slowly starting to go and being replaced with headaches and exhaustion!
I can’t wait to start feeling like myself again..
How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain: 2 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Jeans and a Dress
Stretch marks? A few, I’ve been soaking myself in bio oil if you’re meant to get them you will.
Sleep: My dreams are crazy, they keep me awake.
Best moment this week: My birthday, baby gave me a day off from sickness.
Miss anything? Hmm, runny eggs!
Movement: Nothing yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Tuna!
Food cravings: Hmm, I’d say anything sweet but I have craved figs like crazy!
Gender: We both think we’re having a girl, but happy with a boy. Whatever comes will be more than welcome! Guess we will see at 20 week scan.
Labour signs: None.
Symptoms: Vivid Dreams, Morning Sickness and Headaches.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Feeling baby move!
I will be updating along these next months. I will start to upload beauty related blog posts soon I promise!

Makeup Brushes

Makeup Brushes:

For a little while now I’ve wanted a set of Sigma makeup brushes though the price point has slightly put me off for now. Though I do plan on investing in a kit by the end of this year. Birthday and Christmas maybe?
I set out on a mission on eBay to find something along the lines of sigma and came across theses babies.

Retail at around £10.

10Pcs Professional Make up Brush Foundation Blusher Blending Cosmetic
                Kabuki Brushes Tool Set Kit

5Pcs Make up Brush Set Long
Brush Length: 15.5cm (Approximately)
Handle Diameter: 1.2cm (Approximately)
Brush hair: Synthetic Hair
Precision Tapered: Exact placement of concealer in harder to reach areas such as around the eyes and nose, chin, and around the South.
Precision Round: Apply eye shadow base or primer onto the lid.
Precision Flat: Stipple concealer on sun spots, blemishes, and other small imperfections.
Precision Flat Angled: Use for precise application of concealer products anywhere on the face.
Precision Angled: Apply product to areas such as the sides of the nose and the hollows of the cheeks.

5Pcs Make up Brush Set Short
Brush Length: 10.5 cm (Approximately)
Handle Diameter: 2cm (Approximately)
Brush hair: Synthetic Hair
Tapered Kabuki: Apply cream and liquid foundations onto the harder to reach contours of the face.
Round Kabuki: Blend mineral products onto the skin.
Angled Kabuki: Buff cream blush or bronzer onto the skin.
Flat Kabuki: Application of liquid or cream products to flat areas of the face such as the forehead and cheeks.
Flat Angled Kabuki: Blends foundation easily onto hard to reach areas of the face. Angle fits all areas of the face seamlessly.

They are simply amazing for the price I have owned them for over 3 months and have washed them every week with no shredding or dye transfer. They do the job perfectly and I use them mostly for foundation, powdering, concealing and highlighting. I find they work very well and VERY similar to sigma as I have had a chance to compare them in shape, size and density. I do plan on investing in another kit of these as for £10 you really can’t go wrong. For anyone on a budget these are sure not to break the bank.
