Makeup Brushes

Makeup Brushes:

For a little while now I’ve wanted a set of Sigma makeup brushes though the price point has slightly put me off for now. Though I do plan on investing in a kit by the end of this year. Birthday and Christmas maybe?
I set out on a mission on eBay to find something along the lines of sigma and came across theses babies.

Retail at around £10.

10Pcs Professional Make up Brush Foundation Blusher Blending Cosmetic

They are simply amazing for the price I have owned them for over 3 months and have washed them every week with no shredding or dye transfer. They do the job perfectly and I use them mostly for foundation, powdering, concealing and highlighting. I find they work very well and VERY similar to sigma as I have had a chance to compare them in shape, size and density. I do plan on investing in another kit of these as for £10 you really can’t go wrong. For anyone on a budget these are sure not to break the bank.

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Estee Lauder Double Wear Review:

Reviewing my all time favourite foundation, I have recommended this foundation right left and centre! If I have a special occasion this is the one I grab out of all of them. I wear it pretty much all the time if I’m honest which sort of puts me off buying other brands.  My love for this foundation started back in 2012 when I was after the “perfect” foundation I looked around and read so many reviews I knew I had to try it. I bought it alongside the matte primer which is also an all time favourite. I’ve never looked back and it was the best £50 I’ve ever spent.

What the foundation claims to do: Keeps skin looking fabulous, breathing comfortably through heat, humidity and activity without changing colour, fading or coming off on clothes. Natural matte finish and SPF10 sunscreen to protect skin.
It’s pretty safe to say it’s a miracle in a bottle!

W = Warm (1W1 Bone, 1W2 Linen, 2W1 Sand, 3W1 Tawny, 4W1 Shell Beige, 5W1 Bronze, 6W2 Spice)
N = Neutral (1N1 Ecru, 2N1 Desert Beige, 2N2 Fresco, 3N1 Ivory Beige, 4N1 Wheat, 5N1 Soft Tan, 6N1 Truffle)
C = Cool (1C1 Shell, 2C1 Dusk, 3C1 Pebble, 4C1 Suede, 5C1 Rich Chestnut, 6C1 Rich Cocoa)

This foundation comes in 21 shades in total I wear shade 2C2 Pale Almond the colour is perfect. I’m normally NW20 in Mac foundations.
I cannot tell you how many bottles I have got through of this, the finish is matte but not too matte, it makes your skin look perfect and covers everything. Though I do find you need to use a highlighter and blusher otherwise it can make you look very dull and flat. It claims to stay in place and I can honestly say it doesn’t melt off my oily skin. It looks better as the day goes on in my opinion.

With this foundation you have to remember to work fast and less is more as it’s very pigmented and you don’t need much. I find the best application for me is my Sigma F80 or my fingers for a more natural look. I normally start on my nose and work my way out. Leaving my forehead and chin to last as that’s where I get mostly oily. Imagine your face as a butterfly...

Overall I cannot recommend this enough; at £28.50 it is pricey though a bottle normally lasts me around 4/5 months as you only need a small amount. It was the best investment I made for my makeup collection... I am still on the hunt to find something that comes close. I’ve owned far too many foundations and hated a fair amount too (some with a higher price point). So for now I will keep on buying this.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Review:

What Chanel says “PERFECTION LUMIÈRE controls every detail of a perfect complexion to offer a tailor-made result, a model of perfection by CHANEL. Its light, fluid texture glides on seamlessly with adjustable yet lightweight coverage for perfect results. The skin-embracing texture becomes one with the face, following its every movement. Its Perfect Skin Affinity complex ensures a second-skin effect and perfect foundation hold for 15 hours.

At £36 I’ve been putting off buying this foundation especially since I’ve been so disappointed with so many high end foundations and nothing quite lives up to my Estee Lauder Double wear (that review will be up shortly).  This foundation goes on amazing. The consistency is what I expected I applied it using my fingers as it gives the best coverage in my opinion. Perfection Lumiere is medium/full coverage. The only problem is it’s a bit to matte for me.

This foundation has a fragrance to it which may put some people off, on the other hand after a couple of minutes the smell has faded. I loved the way this foundation made my skin look initially but it didn’t quite live up to its 15 hour wear. I applied this first thing in the morning and after 6/8 hours shine was coming through my T-zone. I then tried adding my beloved Estee Lauder primer and Mac skin finish powder which made the foundation last a couple of hours longer. You should probably know my face is VERY oily.

Though this foundation is perfect in so many ways but at £36 I don’t think I will be repurchasing it, it’s pricey and we shouldn’t have to give it a helping hand with primers and powders in my opinion. This foundation is perfect if you are however looking for lightweight, medium coverage.

Our Love Story

Our love story:

Our love story started way before me and Joao even knew each other like most do, just think about it sometimes you have to go through the heart break, lonely nights and dark days to know when something feels right!
Wouldn’t it be simple if it went girl meets boy, boy meets girl they fall in love and live happily ever after?

Like most people it didn’t quite go that way, I met him when I was 15 years old we met through mutual friends, at first I didn’t think anything of him if I’m totally honest  if only I knew..

The months passed and we became friends he became the person I turned to when my relationship fell apart. I guess by this point the spark was there just waiting. By October 2008 things had got more serious he was my first thought in the morning till the moment I went to bed. We spent the day texting and on the phone like most teenagers.  I remember thinking he had the brightest eyes I’ve ever seen, I could see beyond them.

Things carried on and we had many ups and downs like every relationship nothing is ever a walk in the park, we made it through hand in hand through ever single war we came out standing strong! Despite many people wanting to see us fail along the way we had something so deep I can’t even explain. We’ve been through some loss together, some I never wish on anyone. The pain feels so deep still but I know with him it’ll all be okay.

In 2010 he asked me to be his wife, I remember my heart skipped a beat I felt sick to my stomach (a good kind of sick) I just knew it was meant to be. He was my best friend and what better way than to wake up beside him daily a kiss good morning.
Two years of wedding planning, I swear when I you think you’ve been through everything together try plan a wedding. It puts your relationship through so many different emotions. (Maybe just me, I was a total bridezilla!) He made sure I had my dream wedding on 18th August 2012, I married my best friend, my rock in front of 180 people it was truly a dream come true.

When I look into his eyes I see my whole world in him. His happiness is what I live for; I can’t imagine a day without him. I miss him every second of the day were not together. Our pointless chats, our petty little arguments that mean nothing in 10 minutes time. I love him beyond words; no one will ever be able to see him through my eyes so no one will ever know how deep my love for him goes.
I took a moment today, because it’s my best friend’s birthday! And what better way to tell him I love him then to write this our love story. I’m always going to be beside you, i love you so much! You’ve bought so much happiness and love into my life.  Forever and a day.

“Juro nao te vou deixar”

Happy Birthday my love..

Urban Decay Naked Palettes

The Perfect threesome
Naked palettes:

I came across the naked 2 for my wedding trial. It was amazing and everything I was looking for. I had heard of them before but never thought anything of them. Once my wedding was done I basically ran out and bought naked 1 and 2. And I’ve been hooked ever since.

(naked 2 was used)

All three of these palettes are my most used makeup, day in day out I turn to them. They are the first thing I put in my kit to do clients makeup, they just work regardless of your skin tone or taste. I don’t understand what took me so long to get them. When I found out about naked 3 I pre ordered it on Debenhams and drove myself crazy wanting it before Christmas. In my defence I was going away 3 days after the release date!

Each palette retails between £33 to £37.
For your money you get 12 shades in each palette. The first palette colours are bronze second taupe and third rose shades. I can’t see Urban Decay coming out with naked 4? Unless they go for greys, which wouldn’t be my cup of tea. The first two are very similar and to be honest my naked just doesn’t do it for me I find the colours harder to work with for my skin tone. Naked 2 and 3 are my go to any day. To this day I don’t understand why they repeated some shades from the first it doesn’t make sense. I don’t mind half baked being repeated as it’s my most used colour and I’m sure to hit pan so at least I have a back up!

As you can see from the swatches the eye shadows are very pigmented... You can create many different looks from day to night. These shadows wear very well. I normally pair it with primer potion which makes the colour pop.

(Naked 2)

Now the packages: I personally love the package of 2 and 3. The first one is gorgeous to touch but not ideal to touch if you have messy fingers. I’ve also found that the writing has worn off over time. The metal casing just the right amount of class and very practical, you can just wipe it clean. I also love how they’ve matched the colour to what’s inside. I can just grab and go.

Overall:  I think these are great investments but however I don’t believe you need to own one and two as they are very similar. My favourites are Naked 2 and 3, I personally just love all pink shades. Though I would have liked to have seen more matte shades, however I am a happy customer. Maybe I’ll invest in naked basic’s it’s on my wish list!
