Christmas as Family

Christmas is always a very exciting time for most families, especially if you are experiencing it as a parent for the first time. Our first Christmas as a family was back in 2015 when we had Emma Boo and it completely changed the meaning for me. This year marks another special arrival as our family has extended by another little person.

Christmas went from being about luxury gifts to seeing the look on your baby’s face the first time their little eyes look up at the Christmas tree and admire the lights and decorations, opening their first present the way there is a little sparkle in their eyes at this time of the year. It’s about that count down with advent calendars filled with play doh instead of makeup, its being asked daily if santa has been. For me it was such a magical moment. My advice is take as many photos as you can you’ll forever treasure these moments. Every year they are that little bit bigger.

I’m so excited to have our first Christmas as a family of four even though Olivia is far too young to understand what’s going on. But there’s definitely something magical about having a newborn at Christmas. She’s the greatest gift I could have asked for this year, my heart feels so complete when I look at them both.

I’m very big on starting our own traditions something that the girls can grow up doing and look forward to doing. Stuff both myself and John would have loved as children. This year we are doing homemade Christmas cards for grandparents, aunties, and cousins. I am so excited to do this with Emma, though I can’t say the same about the mess. We’ve also let Emma pick a tree decoration yearly which we plan on handing to her once she has her own house. We will do this with Olivia from next year. Both the girls first decoration were the “baby first Christmas” ornaments. Every year I also make sure to donate a gift to Great Ormond Street, as the girls get older I will ask them to pick a gift each to donate. We moved back in September, this house has a fireplace and that makes me a little bit excited the fact I can put down flour and glitter as Santa’s footsteps for the girls. We’ve also got the girls Christmas Eve boxes with a movie to watch and matching PJs.

When it comes to presents I always spoil the girls, I don’t see a problem with this. The problem is when parents start giving presents instead of presence. On the other hand I think its important that children understand that they may not always be able to get everything they want. I think the key is balance its also teaching our children about true meaning of Christmas and just how lucky they are. We are extremely lucky that family and friends also spoil the girls rotten. They are both so loved, I hope that they grow up knowing just how much. That mummy and daddy will always make sure to give them the very best we possibly can.

Having children has made us both become children at heart again, this year I’ve really looked forward to it. Our tree went up in November which never happens but it’s the first year that Emma truly understands what’s going on and she wouldn’t stop mentioning it. I cannot wait to see their little faces on the 25th

Birth Story

Two years ago John and I decided we wanted to extend our family with another little person. Being diabetic I knew I had to seek medical advice to prepare myself and my body for the long journey ahead. Each appointment filled with heartache it broke me to think of the impact my illness could have on our baby. Not to mention the risk of miscarriage and still birth. The first we had to make sure was my hbA1C came back below 8 that was my target to get the go ahead to start trying and maintain a healthy pregnancy. After a month of healthy eating and exercise I manged to get a reading of 5.3 which my consultant said was amazing. While trying to conceive I worked relentlessly at maintaining low blood sugars. I had a very small window of 5.3-7.8 before and after meals.

Up till 31 weeks pregnant I had a textbook pregnancy, everything was going perfect every scan the baby was measuring perfectly and everything was right on track for delivery at 37 weeks. Then came my 31 week scan and appointment. My scan was perfect she was measuring a little bit smaller than expected. After sitting down and going over my blood sugars for the past two weeks my consultant noticed I was having hypos, which straight away raised red flags with the diabetic team. They agreed I could go home as long as I rang the nurse if there was any change. Monday came around (my appointments were on Friday) and I started passing out blood sugars of 1.2 after every meal. Why was I so sensitive to insulin when my body should need more? I was admitted into hospital and given steroids to prepare to deliver baby at any moment. After 4 days in intensive care, I was allowed to go home on bed rest with my insulin reduced by more than half. I had CTG every day to make sure baby was doing okay. The many concerns at this stage was that my placenta was giving up and would stop working and god forbid our baby would not make it. I then went on to experience reduced movements some days taking hours to get her to move. I couldn’t tell you the amount of tears I cried, the times I felt so helpless and at fault. My body was doing everything it shouldn’t be. I was booked a scan to check placenta and then told to go on CTG while the doctor reviewed it. I remember this day like it was yesterday, when I saw my consultants and diabetic nurse walk into my room I knew something wasn’t right. They simply told me a c section had been booked as Olivia was better out than in her chances of still birth were over 50%. (at this stage my body was too weak to delivery naturally with so many hypos) The plan was to admit me into hospital and I would have a section three days later when I turned 34 weeks. Over the next couple of days I was faced with so much guilt, I kept thinking what did I do wrong why was my body doing this? I couldn’t help but become more and more anxious as the day became closer. I burst into tears every time I spoke to a doctor. I met with the baby doctor had a tour of NICU where I was told to expect her to stay for the next four to six weeks.

On the….
25th October 2017
At 12.11pm
Olivia Rose Ribeiro
Entered this world screaming by planned section
Weighing 5lbs 8oz and 45cm of perfection.

Our little miracle overcame every obstacle quicker than expected at 24 hours old, her and me were reunited and in our own room. She didn’t need her four to six weeks in the NICU. The team of nurses up there are amazing I put my heart in there hands for 24 hours and every time I wanted to go see her or know how she was doing, they were always there to reassure us. On Sunday 29th October we came home and started our new life as a family of four.
Our hearts are so full, she’s perfect worth every single tear and bit of pain.
I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.

Hope everyone is well I cant wait to get back into blogging, what’s everyone been up to?

I’m pregnant

Hi,

It seems like I haven’t posted much on here lately, but I’ve been feeling like crap most of the time and even though I’ve wanted to do a post I just had zero motivation. I am so excited to share with you that we are pregnant! We have hoped for the moment we’d give Emma a little sister/brother for such a long time. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, I can feel myself starting to relax and enjoy this baby now. Though our baby was very much planned it came so unexpected I couldn’t believe it and took a grand total of 28 pregnancy tests, 3 scans to sink in.

Your second pregnancy is so different to your first, some days you don’t even remember you’re pregnant. I’ve really struggled this time around. I remember saying to my husband that I always felt exhausted and I didn’t remember it feeling like this the first time around, then again I also didn’t have a two year old to run after. Symptoms I’ve had every single one, the sickness has been awful. I was on seven different anti sickness tablets a day for a few weeks! Also my skin has become so dry and keeps breaking out in spots especially on my chin.

We are having a gender scan once I reach 16 weeks, we are so excited to find out so we can start planning and getting ready. This time we’ve decided to do a gender reveal which I’m really looking forward to, with Emma we just called and texted people. We’ve got a busy few months coming up as we are planning on moving to. But I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.

How far along?  14 weeks.
Total weight gain: I’d rather not know.
Maternity clothes? Jeans and two t-shirts (I have a lot from Emma).
Stretch marks? None, think I got them all with Emma (so I hope).
Sleep: waking up for toilet every hour!
Best moment this week: we got to see baby.
Miss anything? Feeling human.
Movement: Nothing yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Mostly everything especially meat.
Food cravings: salt and vinegar crisps!
Gender: we find out in two weeks.
 Labour signs: None.
Symptoms: Headaches and exhaustion
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Moody.
Looking forward to: Finding out gender.

Charismatic Cat Candles Clean Cotton

Firstly, I would like to say she is one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. The whole experience was a pleasure to deal with. For me communication is key, the blogging world isn’t always the easiest. She let me know when she would be making a batch of candles and let me pick the scent I would like to receive. It was sent first class recorded and was with me within one day.
I am a complete and utter candle lover, I have a very shameful collection that seems to grow with most trips into town or the supermarket.

I’m a sucker for fresh smelling scents, which is a good thing because this pregnancy has been kind to me #morningsickness. The candle comes in a sleek silver tin with the logo it’s very appealing to the eye. I believe less is more. A few weeks ago, I was kindly sent a candle from Charismatic Cat Candles.  I decided on the scent “clean cotton”, something about the smell of clean clothes coming out of the washing machine makes me feel nice and warm inside. Yeah the simplest things in life satisfy me. As soon as the candle arrived, that’s what I was instantly reminded of. I could not wait to light it up, sit back, and enjoy the fresh smell that quickly took over our bedroom.

This candle reminds me of the Yankee one but at a fraction of the price, it retails for an amazing £4.75. I’ve already told John (my husband) that we will buying one of these to pop into the babies room once we’ve got it all set up.

I believe in helping out small businesses, who are just setting up. This is honestly one of the best scents I have owned. They are all homemade with plenty of different scents and colours to pick from.

You can find her Facebook page here.

Nouveau Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser

As a #bblogger I love putting on my makeup in the morning, but nothing is more satisfying than removing it at the end of a long day! One thing I absolutely hate is being left with panda eyes, which pretty much happens daily when I use my Clinique Take The Day Off in the shower.
When the team at nouveau lashes emailed me about a brand new product they would be launching in May, I could not hide my excitement. I am a huge fan of everything nouveau lashes, everything I’ve tired I have absolutely loved.

“This gentle foaming cleanser is designed to encourage effective lash and eyelid hygiene by removing potential irritants, whilst thoroughly cleansing and conditioning the eye area. The hypoallergenic formulation is gentle on even the most sensitive eyes. Key anti-ageing ingredients also provide intense hydration and moisturisation to allow the skin to better defend itself against environmental aggressors and other ageing effects. Suitable for both lash extensions and natural lashes.”

I have found that the best way to use this is to pump one or two pumps into the back of your hand and dabbing the brush into the cleanser then onto your lashes in circular motion. Once you pump the gel formula, it quickly turns into a foam. For a limited time when you order the product it comes with a cute little purple brush (while stocks last, so make sure you head on over to nouveau lashes #now).

I’ll be honest when I first heard about the brush it puzzled me how I was going to remove my makeup using a brush. I own hundreds of brushes to apply my makeup but never heard of one to remove! The first thing I noticed was how soft my eyelashes felt, there were no clumps of mascara or signs of any eyeshadow. My skin felt SO smooth. I hate having to rub my eyes to remove makeup; One because it makes me worry about my sensitive eyes and if they start stinging at any moment making me panic I’m going blind. Two because I rub so hard at times, my precious eyelashes fall out.

“Pro tip: This cleanser is the perfect way to clean your Strip lashes (allowing for re-use), your make-up brushes and it also removes traces of strip lash adhesive on the eyelids.”

Overall, I am so impressed with this new cleanser you can purchase it here. You can use it on your natural, LVL and SVS lashes. It retails at £14.99  which I think is very reasonably priced considering you get a brush too. Make sure you place your order while stock lasts.

Which cleanser do you use and recommend?

Urban Candle Review

You know you have a serious candle addiction when you spend your evenings in your PJ’s admiring a new scent. When I got home after my surgery and my husband handed me my post from the few days I was in hospital I was very happy to find this package there. A few weeks ago, the lovely Danielle from Urban Candle Co messaged me about reviewing one of their candles. She then asked me to pick which one I’d like to receive. Naturally, with summer coming (wishful thinking) I opted for sea salt & white sage. This is a clean and fresh scent with a warm smell of sage. This candle reminds me of sexy manly aftershave. (I’m a big sucker for manly aftershaves and perfume; you should see me when my husband applies perfume. Picture a dog’s nose sniffing yup that’s me!)  It’s a very light scent which works well for my family. My other half unlike me doesn’t enjoy heavily scented candles or diffusers around our home. I can bet my last penny if I light a candle and walk out the room he will blow it out.

This scent is available in a few different sizes, the size I got is the smallest size they do. It comes in a silver tin with the “urban candle co” across the front. I was very impressed with the packaging of this item, it came in a beautiful white box tied with a black ribbon bow. It states in their catalogue that burning time is 40 hours, for around £15 these make a lovely gift and they can also enjoy it over and over again. Another thing that caught my eye is that you can personalise them with messages and names.

You can check out the full range HERE.

Prices start from £6.95 to £30.00. Have you ever heard of them or tried any scent? I will definitely be picking up the 3 wick one once I’ve finished this one.

Chit Chat

I can’t believe it is already April but I feel like I say that every month, anyone else? The month of March was a total flop when it comes to blogging but then again it was like that with everything. Mid-month I started to feel sick I put it down to a virus at first. I had a very moody sick toddler for a couple of days so I thought the bug had finally caught up with me, boy was I wrong. When it did not seem to be shifting and the pain became too intense, my husband took me to hospital where they suspected I had appendicitis. Four nights in hospital they sent me home on antibiotics, I couldn’t get out of their quicker. On Friday morning, I still didn’t feel any better and took a trip to the GP when again she referred me to surgical team for suspected appendicitis, they saw me but sent me home as they doubted it and said it must be infection to keep taking antibiotics. By the evening I wasn’t able walk, I was crying in pain and being sick everywhere. My sweet husband once again took me into hospital where they said I was going to be admitted and into surgery to take out my appendix. This happened on Saturday late afternoon. The moment before I was put to sleep, I was in panic mode, all I could think about was him and Emma. What if I never woke up? Would they know how much they meant to me?  I know total drama queen! However, surgery is my worst nightmare. I kept saying to the nurse what if I wake up during surgery? The surgeon came and spoke to me guaranteed me I’d be okay and that he had performed this surgery many times in his career and he’d see me in an hour. (Removing your appendix should take an hour roughly)

I remember opening my eyes and my nurse was sitting there writing away. Everything else seems a blur, by the time I was transferred back to my room it was past 4 a.m. a surgery that was meant to be an hour turned into 5 hours and two hours in recovery. I remember waking up in the morning turning to get out of bed to go to the toilet and I couldn’t bend my stomach I was in so much pain. I even fainted trying I had never felt anything quite like that, I gave birth without pain relief I know what pain feels like! It wasn’t till mid-morning when my surgeon came to see how I was doing when I was told it wasn’t my appendix but my bowels were covered in scar tissue from an injection and it was spreading to other organs and making them all pull together causing the cramps. My hole inside felt like it had been cut open. Not exactly how I planned to spend my mother’s day.

I’m officially a week post op now. Bed rest is not for me, I seriously feel so useless I’m not one to sit around and have everyone tip toe around me. Though at first it did feel nice I’ll admit.  But two weeks of basically doing nothing has seriously gotten to me. They’ve now told me its 4-12 weeks recovery time. I’m keeping everything crossed for 4 weeks. It’s been my worst nightmare not being able to hold Emma when she cries for mummy cuddles. Having to ask my husband to slowly place her in my arms but make sure she doesn’t touch my stomach.
I think that pretty much sums up the last two weeks of the month and why I haven’t been able to do anything. Between sleeping and recovering, I have been binge-watching series. Any good ones out there? I love watching crime programs. Law and order seems to be a favourite at the moment. I’m hoping to be a bit more active this week. I’ve received so many goodies and can’t wait to review them for you all.

What’s everyone been up to?
Did you all have a good mother’s day?

Mother's Day Gift Guide

You will never know the true meaning of love until you become a mum. I will never forget getting those two pink lines, my first scan, hearing her heart beat for the first time and then the gush of love I felt when I first saw my daughter. But you see every day I fall in love with her a little more. The cheeky smile, watching her bond with her dad, her sweet voice, the way she runs, the way she cuddles and the way she calls me mummy… I can truly say that being a mum was the one thing I was meant to do on this earth. It just comes naturally, I love with no limits, and this tiny human comes before anyone and anything. When she was just hours old I knew I would give my life for hers. My mum always told me growing up, “when you become a mum you’ll understand” and I hate to admit but till you become a parent there is a lot you don’t truly understand. Mother’s day is just around the corner, whether you’re celebrating with a walk in the park or over a family lunch. It’s all about that one person who holds a family together like no other. Each and every mummy deserves to be celebrated, whether you’re celebrating being a mum or congratulating a first time mummy. It’s a chance to spoil the one who has nurtured, encouraged and moulded us into the people we are today. It’s the least we can do to show them that we appreciate everything they’ve done for us over the years. It’s not always easy shopping for women in general so I decided to put together a gift guide of presents I wouldn’t mind being spoiled with. Flowers Women love flowers, what better way to say I love you than with a bunch of carefully selected flowers. I for one love pastel flowers. I love the way it makes me feel every time I look at them. I also think they add such a nice touch to my home. LVL As a lot of you know a few months ago I was extremely luckily to become part of the bestest girl squad out there. Shout out to #LashGang. Along with wearing the badge proudly it comes with many perks to the job. The amazing team over at Nouveau sent me out a cute Mothers Day message with a treat for busy mothers like myself. LVL straightens your natural eyelashes at the root it lasts anything from six to eight weeks. The results are immediate, wake up ready to go. You can spoil your mummy for as little as £45. (Please check your local salon as prices may vary) I’m super excited about having it done on Saturday, make sure you check my Instagram and Snap Chat stories between 2.15-3.30 for before and after shots and if I'm feeling brave I’ll even do videos! I’ll also be doing a full detailed review hopefully Saturday evening. Bath Lovers. If being a mum has taught me anything is that the best cure (that and a glass bottle of prosecco!) to a bad day is soaking in a bath that smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling baby soft. Lush is my go to company when it comes to this. They have a wide variety of products from bath bombs to shower gels. To be honest my husband could buy me a ton of this stuff and I’d be over the moon. (husband because Emma Lou is far to small to buy me presents if she had a say it’d proably be a minnie mouse or mickey) Lush is a great place to start if your trying to stick to budget friendly. Make Up. Being a #BBlogger (beauty blogger) its kind of my duty passion to always want makeup. I’m the biggest sucker for high end products. Around special occasions you can bet your last penny that somewhere on my wish list theres some sort of makeup I want. Whether it’s the latest palette to a high end lipstick. After all you need something to help hide the evidence that once you become a mother you NEVER sleep a full nights sleep, even if your baby does. I’m currently lusting over, Nars All Day Lumiouns Foundation, Nars Conclear, Charlottle Tilbury Lipsticks and Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette. The Candle Lover. Its no secret I LOVE candles, my home is filled with them regardless of the season. I love going from room to room and smelling the different scents. Something about that makes me smile inside. Landon Tyler do some amazing gift sets at such affordable prices. If you have a bit more to spend I definitely recommend you check out Diptyque and Jo Malone. You can normally find them in your local John Lewis or Space NK. Jewellery. Unforgetable memories. This has got to be probably one of my favourite gifts to receive. Something about opening a little box feels me with excitement and happiness. I always find giving jewellery is such a personal heartfelt moment. From the moment you receive it to every time you wear it it’ll remind you of the person and moment. Pandora always have a mothers day collection which is perfect for everyone of all ages. Its definitely my go to company when it comes to gifts. I think I’ve pretty much covered a gift that would suit a wide variety of women. Everyone loves getting spoiled especially by a loved one. But since I’ve become a mother I can honestly say the best gift you can give your mums this mothers day is your presence. I understand that life can get in the way and being with them is not always an option, but even if you take 5 minutes of your day to just call them and thank them. Technology is our bestest friend (sometimes worst enemy) it can bring us closer to those who we love, FaceTime, Skype, Facebook. I hope you all have an amazing day. What are your plans for Sunday? xxxx

Monthly Favourites

Every month I lie to myself and say I’m going to do a favourites post. I ALWAYS leave it far too late and we’re a good one week into the month before I even start thinking about what I’ve loved using that month. So for me to be doing this post on the 1st March I’m giving myself a pat on the back. I’ve finally organised myself and took photos and managed to write this post!
*proud moment.

February the month of love.

1.      Bondi Sands Liquid Gold. I’ve always loved sun kissed skin, for me this look can only be achieved with fake tan. Because I am so pale, and burn so badly when I’m out in the sun despite using factor 50.  I’ve been trying to find a good fake tan for a very long time, I’m in a Facebook group where this was recommended more times than I can remember. I finally went and bought it. (Think it was £14 from boots) It’s bloody AMAZING so go buy it now!

2.      Nouveau Lashes Glamour Style 2. If you haven’t seen my recent post about me joining #LashGang check it out. I had 3 strip lashes sent to me in my first pack, this style I have loved the most. I seriously have used them over 4 times and taking proper care of them they still look amazing (let me add I don’t use mascara on my lashes) there’s a direct link to their website in the side bar à

3.      Charlottle Tilbury Pillow Talk & Bitch Perfect. When I first ordered them I will admit it was because of the hype all over social media, and let’s face it the packaging alone was enough for me. There’s so many other shades I want to buy but these are definitely my type.

4.      Mac Studio Fix NW20. I’ve been trying to spend less money on makeup as I’m really trying to save for once. Shocker I know! I discovered this at the back of my foundation drawer, I can’t believe I forgot how much I loved this stuff!

5.      Mac Velvet Teddy. No matter how many lipsticks I buy, this will always be my favourite!

6.      Mac Paintpot Painterly. I got this a few weeks ago to use as a primer on my nose, chin and eyelids. It seriously makes such a difference and keeps everything in place.

7.      Nouveau Brow & Lash Serum. I’ve been using this since it arrived. My hairs look healthier and fuller, I was worried about it feeling sticky but it leaves your brows and lashes so soft. It’s no surprise it’s their best seller.

8.      NYX HD Concealer. I totally blame @staceylouisewhite for this purchase. For a little while now she has recommend this over on her snapchat. I finally picked it up at the start of the month along with a few other bits from NYX. It feels so nice and doesn’t set in fine lines and manages to hide the evidence of sleepless nights.

9.      Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit- Gleam. I received this at Christmas and literally have used it none stop. I cannot wait to buy my next glow kit now.

10.   Mac Blusher- Blush All Day. This shade compliments my skin tone so well I have been looking for something like this for a while so was pretty happy when I got it in January.

11.   L’Oreal True Match Liquid Highlighter. I picked this up after I had seen it over Instagram on one of my trips into Superdrug. I’ve been mixing it in with my foundation or face cream and it gives you such a nice natural glow finish.

What have you been loving this month?

Catch Up + Monthly Goals

Firstly I would like to take a few minutes (I promise it won’t be long) to apologise for my lack of posts. I was so determined to do two posts a week but then life got in the way. I also feel like my last few posts haven’t been great and are lacking. If any of you saw my post on Instagram on Saturday night you would have got a small insight that things haven’t been great. You all see a small version of myself and probably the best, let’s face it no one wants to admit when they are struggling mentally and emotionally. But behind all these picture perfect moments I have been destroyed by life itself and people around me. I have learnt the true meaning that everything in life is a lesson learned, that there are two type of people. Some will lift you and others will throw bricks while you are down. I’ve realised instead of forgiving and forgetting I need to take those bricks and build a better stronger version of myself. For the first time in a very long time I am finally ready to let go and focus on me myself and I.

January and February seem like a bit of a blur if I’m honest and I cannot believe that March is just around the corner. (Literally) February is always a bitter sweet month, it’s the month my baby sees another year in, I still can’t believe I have a two year old. A TWO YEAR OLD! How the heck did that happen? I swear it was only a few months ago I was pushing around my beautiful iCandy staring in the carry cot at this perfect new-born.  Emotional break down over here.

(No carrycot picture on my laptop, so here she is at 6 months old!)

Please tell me I’m not the only mother who sits there and thinks where the hell has the time gone? I miss those days so much. I think it’s probably the cuddles that baby smell, Emma is at such an amazing age. Even if it includes saying the word “mummyover 1000 times a day. I feel like motherhood was the one thing I was put on this earth to do. Yes I know I am super broody, my Facebook feed is also 80% baby spammed.

We’ve also started thinking of holidays and looking at houses which I’m super excited about. I need a holiday, something I can count down the time to relax and actually enjoy this beautiful family of my own. We’re looking at moving, if my husband has it his way it’d be 150 miles away. I think the idea is slowly growing on me (shhh don’t tell him that, the vans will be packed by the end of the week!). But I also feel terrible taking Emma away from everyone and everything shes ever known.
What’s everyone doing for holidays this year??
We’re looking to go to Portugal for Christmas which I’d love to do.

Monthly Goals.
·        Post two posts a week.
·        Keep up and chart diabetes.
·        Start using twitter.
·        Reach 900 followers on Instagram.
·        Save - For that holiday and dream house.
·        Work on myself.

What are your goals for March?

Landon Tyler Country Meadow Review

Candles and photo frames are often spotted across my house, for me these two little things add the finishing touches into making my house feel like home. There is no better feeling then curling up in front of the TV and warm blanket and a burning candle filling the air with a heavenly scent. I came across Landon Tyler over on Instagram and a fellow blogger Stacey mentioned them over on her blog a couple of months ago (Check out her review!) After reading her blog post and seeing how gorgeous it looked I really wanted to get one. When the lovely people over at Landon Tyler sent on out for me to review I was so excited and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

The candle comes in a beautiful cream box with silver detailing and finally printed with a green label. Firstly the candle is huge, I think its 35 hours of burning time plenty of time to enjoy the scent. It’s presented with three wicks in frosted glass. I’m so happy about that I recently just finished a candle that looks like there is so much product left but it only had one wick so it just burned down the middle. I’ve been enjoying the candle for little over a week and I love it so much. It fills our room with warm smell of rose and jasmine.  I think this scent is lovely for the time of the year, Christmas is over and it reminds me of what’s just around the corner. Spring. They have 12 different scents to pick from, they also have diffusers and beautiful hand wash sets to suit each and every individual. Check there full range here.

I’m really impressed with the quality of the candle and they are also reasonably priced. I think this would make a lovely gift for anyone especially a house warming gift. After looking through their website they have really nice gift sets. With mother’s day not far away, I’m going to be picking some of these up for our parents.

Have you tried any of the Landon Taylor scented candles?
I’m already on the hunt for my new one, I’m thinking of buying pink cashmere. I love the sound of it.

Lust List

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is upon us?

February has to be one of my favourite months, closely followed by August. They are the months that my heart exploded with love &&& I do it all again in a heartbeat. When did my baby become a toddler? Seriously, I swear I blinked and she grew up. It’s such a bittersweet moment, I wish I could rewind the clock. Make that new born cuddle last a bit longer, not care for people’s opinions and enjoy my baby.  I spent most of the early months trying to prove myself to people who to be honest aren’t worth a second thought. Some of the most poisonous people come disguised as family.

Growing up I’ve always dreamed of having a beginning of the year baby, I don’t know why but I always imagined it’d be January/February.  When I found out I was expecting so close to Valentine’s Day we were both secretly hoping she’d make her grand appearance on the 14th.

With February being all about love.
Let’s just take a moment to lust over my wish list. A shopping trip to Westfield made my heart skip a beat. Can we just sit here and take in all the perfection of Prada, Dior and Louboutin.

What makes my heart skip a beat also gives my husband a heart attack. He always says work hard play harder.

What’s on your list??
Anyone else out there with very expensive taste?

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk & Bitch Perfect.

Around Christmas the beauty industry and bloggers all went crazy over the Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetics. Splurging £24 for a lipstick isn’t something I do very often, to be honest I tend to buy mac and drugstore lip products. So it’ll take something amazing to make me spend my hard earned money when it comes to a new lippie. Charlotte Tilbury does that for me, her whole lipstick collection is breathe taking. I’m pretty sure by the end of 2017 I will have an impressive collection, though I’m sure my husband won’t be too pleased.

When pay day came around and my husband said I had £100.00 to spend on makeup I KNEW I had to finally pick up “pillow talk” and “bitch perfect”. This straight away blew £50.00 of my budget. I’ve been wanting to update my wardrobe so I held back and kept some money for other bits. (Though I did end up spending it on make-up!) If you follow me on snapchat and Instagram you’d have seen how beautifully they are packed. The whole shopping experience screams luxury, your receipt comes in an envelope your products in purple tissue paper. I LOVE tissue paper I think it makes everything feel a tad bit luxurious I really hope that’s not just me. For anyone that doesn’t know pillow talk cheat lip liner was her best seller, so when she announced its release as a matte lip stick beauty lovers everywhere couldn’t wait to get their hands on it! My whole Instagram feed has been Charlotte Tilbury it seemed that everyone everywhere had it.

Pillow Talk is a natural pink/nude lip colour but better. The finish to this lipstick is Matte, but I really like it. It isn’t your average matte, it’s between matte and satin and feels lovely on your lips.
Bitch Perfect is again a pink/nude colour. This one is more satin on your lips, it’s from her kissing range.

These are the sort of shades I find myself reaching for the most on a day to day basis. I really don’t think you can wrong it’d suit every skin tone in my opinion. The shape of the lipstick makes the application so much easier, it glides on and doesn’t feel as if you’re pulling the product.
I cannot wait to do some more damage on her website next pay day. Have you tried any of her lipsticks? I really want to pick up three more shades I’ve been eyeing up for a while.

Nouveau #LashGang

I feel like I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, I have managed a post a week. I will admit that most of them I had saved and ready to go. I really want to set a schedule for my blog, I’m hoping to do two posts a week. One beauty related and the other lifestyle/general chatter. I was so overwhelmed with the response I got from my last post. It was out of my comfort zone trying to conceive has always been a very difficult subject for me to speck about. It’s something that still breaks my hearts to even think about, but it’s a real matter and regardless of it being a taboo subject it needs to be spoken about.

Anyways…

This is such an exciting post just after Christmas I was contacted by the beautiful Beth Eleanor that Nouveau Lashes had some positions and were looking for beauty bloggers to work with and she thought I should go for it. I applied but I didn’t think I would get it, I’m always doubting my work especially my Instagram. I’m a very visual person I know what I want and rarely settle for less which can be a curse. A few weeks later I got a very exciting email that I was accepted as an official member of #LashGang.

Anyone who knows me knows that I really struggle in “loving” myself, but the one thing I always tend to love is my eyes. I am lucky enough to have very long lashes but they are also very blonde! Over the last few years as my passion for makeup grew so did experimenting with eyelashes. I was always on the hunt to find the perfect lashes, from very expensive strip lashes to cheap plastic feeling ones from eBay (I have bought the pack of 5 for £3 before). I always struggled because to me they should feel comfortable and that was something I was struggling to find, I also hated all the faffing that came with some brands and having to trim them down to make them fit your eye to find I’d cut too much off.

When my first parcel arrived from Nouveau Lashes I couldn’t wait to pick it up from post office the following day. Me and the hubs had plans to go for a lunch date (I cannot remember the last time we had a lunch date! But it felt so nice to be child free during the day.) And then shopping for Emma’s birthday presents. I made him drive me to royal mail beforehand and ripped open the box in the car, I’m pretty sure I looked like a kid at Christmas probably worse my husband says I’m never that excited at Christmas. My first thought was WOAH! I was shocked by the amount they sent, in my welcome pack. I was gifted with 3 strip lashes, their best seller Lash and Brow conditioning serum and their eye make-up remover. I couldn’t wait to get home take photos (blogger problems) and finally start using everything.

(Strip Lashes, style 2)

I am SO in love with these lashes, so far I have only tried style 2 I find them so comfortable there was no need to faff around and trim them. I personally don’t like using mascara to make the lashes “blend” I think it ends up ruining your lashes. I use a thin layer on my natural eyelashes and then apply my falsies. As you can see in the picture they blend beautifully and give a very natural look. They go on like a dream the glue gets tacky very quick making the applying process so much easier.  I can see myself wearing lashes more often, I feel like my eyes look naked without them now. Here’s to doing the childminder drop off and pick up with lashes. I’m also loving there makeup remover, it’s perfect for removing your lashes and any glue that’s been left behind. It’s very quickly replaced my micellar water. I will be doing a more in detail review of the Brow and Lash conditioner. I’ve been using it for nearly two weeks and so far I’ve noticed they look healthier. I want to try it out for at least a month to give you a detailed post.

I recommend you check out the full range over on their website. They are so affordable I would definitely pay more they are such amazing quality. Also if you don’t already follow me on Instagram and Twitter I recommend you do  over the next coming months as a #LashGang member I will be bringing you regular information and reviews on Nouveau Lashes and their services. I cannot wait to work with such an amazing brand and bunch of girls. #GirlSquad.

*Disclaimer- I am part of #LashGang these products were gifted to me, this does not affect my review in any way opinions are 100% my own.
